Mother’s Day card 2025

Hello and welcome, 

This is my Mother’s Day card for my Dear Mother this year. (25/5)

I have used Tim Holtz products for this card.

I started with the background, a piece of Watercolor cardstock. Inked different colors of Distress inks and some Oxides on a piece of OH plastic and sprayed lightly with water, then used it to add ink to the paper. Color by color and drying in between. By doing it this way it is quite easy to control we’re the ink will goes.

Then I stamped the CMS394 Tiny text with Distress embossing ink and added white embossing powder, (I saw Vicki Evans did that on a card and got inspired), then heated with embossing gun. Then I stamped one of the stamps from CMS489 Deconstructed with Black soot Archival ink, and finally some numbers in Ground espresso Archival ink.

I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine and then inked the edges with Scorched timber DI.

I used a fine liner pen and traced around the stamped words “Love you”. You can see that just above the pink heart.

I diecut the hearts from 666567 Vault rosettes die, from Distress mixed media heavystock. Inked in different colors, stamped the text stamp from CMS328 Entomology with Ground espresso Archival ink and finally glued them together with Distress collage medium. Inked all edges with Scorched timber DI.

I glued the hearts in a heart shape to the card.

Then I printed out words on the computer with words that I think symbolise my Mother, inked the paper with Pumice stone DI, glued to another thicker paper and cut them out as pennants. Inked the edges with Scorched timber and then put Mini fasteners in each and everyone. Then glued them to the hearts with Distress collage medium. 

I mounted the card to a piece of red cardstock, then to a white cardblank that I made from white cardstock. Inked all edges with Scorched timber and used 3D foam between the layers for dimension. 

I also placed a pennant in the middle of the card, “Mamma” means Mother in Swedish.

Card for a young women who is studying to be a doctor

Hello and welcome, 

Today I have a card for a young women who is studying to be a doctor. And a while a go she had some practice in Tanzania. 

I have used Tim Holtz products, and the stamped doctor is from Kenny K. 

The background is Watercolor cardstock which I inked with Pumice stone on my craft mat, added water and dipped the card. Heated between layers and repeated until happy.

Then I stamped the “table of the skeleton” stamp also with DI Pumice stone. Stitched the edges with my sewing machine and inked the edges with Scorched timber DI. 

I splattered some Candied apple DI on the background as well.

I colored the stamped doctor with Distress inks. And then I diecut the pieces of the globe and inked with Distress inks. All edges on the globe are inked with DI Scorched timber. 

I diecut the starborder from a Pumice stone inked piece of Watercolor cardstock and when cut I inked the raised areas with the same ink. 

I diecut a piece from the Heartbeat dieset, from a Candied apple inked piece of Watercolor cardstock. 

I matted the card with a piece of red, then a piece of white cardstock. Both with inked edges Scorched timber. Then made a black cardblank. All layers mounted with 3D foam between for dimension. 

I decorated the card with three red pearls.

On the bottom of the card I decorated with some gauze bandage and some other small decorations like a hat, a stethoscope and a patch. 

Flower card for a collegue

Hello and welcome, 

I have made a card with one of Tim’s Spring curations stampsets THMM124. 

I started with the background, a piece of Watercolor cardstock. Used Pumice stone DI on my craftsheet and water. Dipped the card and dried between layers. Repeated until happy.

Then I used Speckled egg DOX through the stencil in this set, then some DOX Uncharted mariner through the stencil in the corners of the background. Then I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. Inked the edges with Uncharted mariner. 

I stamped the images with Archival ink Black soot. Colored the images with Distress inks. I also stamped a number and some poststamps on the card, from stampset CMS396, Field notes.

I cut a piece of blue cardstock and used Texture paste to the same stencil as above. Stamped the ”own your story” with Distress embossing ink, and used white embossing powder. Heated with embossing gun.

I cut a piece of pink cardstock, inked the edges with DI Uncharted mariner, and adhered the blu piece on the pink with 3D foam. Then adhered to the background, also with 3D foam. 

I cut a piece of pink cardstock, inked the edges with Uncharted mariner DI and adhered the background with 3D foam. Then I made a blue card base, adhered the card with 3D foam.

Easter/Birthday card

Hello and welcome, 

This is a card I made for a woman who have her birthday mid April, just around easter this year.

I have used Tim Holtz products.

I started with the background, Watercolor cardstock. And used the same technique as on my Mr Frostie tag in December. The technique is inspired from Zoey Scarpelli. 

I masked Mr Rabbit and stamped the “Easter egg stamp”.

I colored Mr Rabitt with Distress inks.

I used Pumice stone DI, Antique linen and Victorian velvet DOX on the background.

I also splattered brown acrylic paint on the background. 

I used a pair of  Ideaology Cello tape as decoration.

Faux bleach birthday card

Hello and welcome, 

Today I will show a birthday card for a person who likes black. I started with the background and cut a piece of Mixed media heavystock, sprayed it with Distress spray stain in Black soot, sprayed some water and then dried with heat tool. I used Tim’s stencil THS183 Deco feather, sprayed some water on the stencil and ”printed” the stencil on to the paper, like monoprinting but with water. 

I had to do the ”printing” 4 times, because the card is bigger than the stencil. I dried between the ”prints”. I inked the edges with Distress ink Black soot, and stitched around with my sewing machine. 

Now to the fokal point; I cut a piece of Mixed media heavystock and sprayed it with Black soot Distress spray stain, sprayed some water, dried with heat tool and repeated until happy. Then I stamped one of the flowers from CMS462 Bold botanicals with Archival ink in Black soot. Next step is called faux bleach, a technique I have learned from the talented Dyan Reaveley. Use a Tim Holtz waterbrush, “paint” a petal at a time with water, then take a piece of kitchen towel and “lift” the color from the background. A very cool and effective technique if you ask me. 

When finished, I inked the edges with Black soot DI and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. 

I cut two pieces of Ideaology metallic Kraftstock, sanded and then inked the edges with Scorched timber DI. Adhered the background and the focal point to one each with 3D foam for dimension. I also made a black cardblank. 

I stamped “make a wish” and the circle around it from CMS463 Note quotes with Distress embossing ink and then used black embossing powder. I stamped on a piece of Ideaology metallic Kraftstock which I sanded and then inked the edges .

Mr Frostie in green

Hello and welcome, 

We have a bad winter here in Sweden where we live, and with bad I mean lack of snow. I love snow and we like to go cross country skiing. We have been able to ski but mostly on artificial snow. So with that in mind I got the idea to make Mr Frostie and surroundings in green. Here we go: ⛄️

I started with the background, a nr #8 mixed media tag. Then brayered the snowflakes with Distress paint in Picket fence, and stamped. Dried with heat tool. Be aware that you need to clean your stamps immediately so the paint doesn’t dry on the stamp! 

Then I inked my craft mat with Distress ink and Oxides, sprayed some water and dipped the tag. Dried between layers and repeated until happy. 

I inked the edges with Scorched timber Distress ink and stitched around the tag with my sewing machine. 

I stamped “let it snow”  and the branch from CMS499 Mr Frostie stamp set with Archival ink in Black soot.

I diecut the snowflake from 666717 Vault Winter Wishes from Watercolor cardstock. Then used collage medium matte as glue and added Clear rock candy glitter to the snowflake. Let dry. Glue to the tag.

I stamped Mr Frostie himself on Watercolor paper and colored him with Distress inks. Fuzzy cut him and then inked the edges with Distress ink Scorched timber. 

I diecut the letters “MR FROSTIE” from 666859, from sanded Ideaology Kraftstock. Then glued to the tag. 

I adhered Mr Frostie with 3D foam for some dimension, and glued just his arms to the tag. Here you can see the white snowflakes in the background. ❄️❄️

I cut a small circle from some scrap paper just to fit Mr Frostie’s head, and placed over his head. Then I splattered some Distress paint Picket fence over the rest of the tag.

Card for a 90 year women

Hello and welcome, 

First post of the year! Hope everyone will have a Happy New Year!

Today I want to share a card I made for one of my Mother’s friends. They worked together for many years as well. 

I started with the background, a piece of Watercolor cardstock. Then I inked my craft sheet with different pink/lilac shades of Distress Oxides. Spritzed with water and dipped the paper. Dried between layers and repeated until happy. Then I inked one of the stamps CMS460 with Archival ink in Plum and stamped. I had to stamp 3 times and moved the stamp because the background are bigger than the stamp. I used my sewing machine and stitched around the edges and then inked the with Scorched timber DI. I sprayed some pink Distress Spritz as well.

I used the Vault rosettes die 666567 and collage strips to made the flower. To use the collage strips for this is a great tip from Tim Holtz. It made it so easy. I inked the edges on the rosette with Scorched timber and splattered some Scorched timber Distress spray stain on both rosette and background. Dried with heat tool. 

I stamped the stem from CMS479 Abstract florals and colored with Distress inks. Then cut the stem out. 

Then I diecut the circle from rosette die set from Watercolor cardstock, inked in pink and stamped “90” with CMS484 Sign painter with Distress embossing ink and then used Embossing glaze in Walnut stain. Inked the edges with Scorched timber DI. 

I inked two Ideaology paper strips with Scorched timber and stitched them to the background with my sewing machine. Then I used a circle stamp from CMS396 Field notes together with Archival ink in Ground espresso. 

I also decorated the card with some half pearls in different colors (white/pink). 

I mounted the card to a pink/lilac piece of Ideaology Coredinations cardstock with 3D foam, then to a brown cardblank in the same way.

I will try this card over at Simon says stamp Monday challenge  - Add some texture. The texture I added is the 3D rosette, the pearls and stitching.
